Ashley Wyland Ashley Wyland

Ashley Wyland was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she swam competitively for 11 years including 4 years on the varsity swim team at Westminster College. During her many years of training, Ashley specialized in distance freestyle with her main events being the 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle as well as the 50 and 100 free on many different relays. During her 4 years at Westminster, she gave lessons to children with varying ages and skill level as well as private lessons with a 9 year old girl who needed to work on her stroke skills and improve her times in the water. After graduating in May of 2015, she became an assistant swim coach for Baldwin Whitehall Aquatics where she worked with children ages 5-14, assisting them with practices, stroke skill, kicking, drills and ensuring their safety in and out of the water. Ashley majored in Environmental Science with a Spanish minor and she just recently moved to Tampa and is searching for a career in environmental education. She hopes to find a job at a zoo, aquarium or botanical garden where she can create programs based on environmental science and conservation while being surrounded by nature and animals. Ashley loves the beach and the water, animals, reading, music and attending concerts and her true passion is the environment. She also recently became a volunteer in the education department at the Florida Aquarium where she is excited to be able to work with children and animals.

 

Sattar Nasser Sattar Nasser

Sattar was born was Seattle Washington, and raised in Dubai. He started swimming competitively at the age of 9. He began competing on his school varsity team at age 13 and acted as captain of his varsity swim team junior and senior year. At age 15, Sattar secured his American Red Cross Lifeguarding license and began working as a lifeguard for the city of Clearwater. Sattar has worked as a WSI for the City of Clearwater and the City of Safety Harbor, teaching the fundamentals of safe swimming. He enjoys living an active and healthy lifestyle and encourages others to do the same.

 

Karma Nieset Karma Nieset

Karma was born in India, adopted and raised in Mishawaka, Indiana. She grew up in a big neighborhood where her life of swimming began. She joined her friends on the neighborhood swim team at age 7. From there on she joined a year round club team; she also enjoyed soccer. She quit swimming for a few years and played soccer. Karma played soccer freshman year of high school and then decided she wanted to swim instead. She swam Sophomore - Senior year. At age 12 Karma got her certification to be a babysitter (CPR and First Aid) At age 15, Karma got her certification to be a lifeguard. At age 17, she got her certification to be a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) through the American Red Cross. Karma loves working with kids, she's been babysitting since she was 12 years old, She's worked in daycare for on and off 10 years, She was a nanny for a family. She has been doing swim lessons for 11 years. Karma, also was an assistant swim coach back home, she worked with entry and novice group swimmers. Karma just moved to Florida and is excited to be able to do swim lessons all year round.

 

Pegg Pegg

Pegg has been teaching swimming lessons and aqua aerobics for over half of her life! Babies, children, and adults all have benefitted from Pegg's unique style of teaching. She holds certifications in various types of water aerobics, including: Aqua Rehab and Aqua Fitness. She also holds Red Cross Certifications in Water Safety Instruction (WSI) and CPR.
